After 2,5 months is warm and idilic Spain i have to say that i got used to the organisation of stuff and how everything works here. Something i can really appreciate, are the times to eat. In Spain you don´t eat like the Dutchies only 3 times a day. You will eat at least 5 times a medium amount of deliciousness. So you will start the day with some yoghurt of something light like a cup of milk or something like a cracker. After, at 11 o´clock you will enjoy ´almorzar´which is basically a replacement for our big breakfast, you can take a nice ´bocadillo´here or some other type of sandwich or crepe. After at 2 o´clock you will ´comer´which is a warm, big lunch. At the scholl canteen we have a daily switching menu which you can buy for 5 euros. This menu exists of a salad or pasta as starter, as main you can make a choice out of for example the good old paella or something with fries, for example grilles chicken breast. I you have your ´comida´at home you have to make place to do a good siesta like all the Spanish. As from 5 o´clock you can eat some small things like tapas. What is better than a nice glass of delicious wne when you are overthinking your day and eating tapas? exactly, almost nothing. At 10 you will have you final dinner, this is called ´cenar´. Cenar is something which is interpreted differently as far as i noticed. For example my classmates stated that cener is not a big and heavy meal, but when i take a look at the streets when i am out at night, i notice that the Spanish people eat a big plate of Paella of pasta. It is a bit confusing so i will have to find out more about it.
So actually i spent my las weekend in beautiful Valencia together with my cousin Ivar. We really made the best out of it and we visited the historical city centre within one day. Valencia is pretty small and for that reason really suitable for a nice trip for a couple of days. Valencia is an artistic town, which has a several nice museums, a lot of cute (vintage) stores and obviously a dozen of pretty buildings in the neo classisistic style. So much to do, so much to see. So after visiting the city centre on saturday we went to rent bikes on sunday so we could see more in less time. We biked half an hour to get to the ciudad de artes y ciencias. Very popular for turists as well as locals. This museum offers a lot of different things, for example: a museum of modern art, an aquarium (extremely big, also extremely expensive), a 3D - cinema and of course the museum of sciences. Ivar and i choose to go to the museum of sciences, there was a special promo that we only paid 5 euros instead of 8 so, as real dutchies, we had to go! It was unfortunately a bit of a deception since there was only a small part which was in english and a boring exposition of wooden stuff. BUT, i am able to say that i visited that famous museum and that is nice:)
Furthermore, time flies and i am already getting nervous for the exams. I have to study a lot i think the coming weeks. First things, first: After an awesome weekend with my cousin, Niek will come and visit me for a week tomorrow. I am really excited to see him again and show him where and how i live in Castellón.
The next time i will tell some more about the school and the organisation of everything. Also i will explain more about Spanish people, so everybody who wants to go to Spain can prepare more than i could:)
